12 Months With Jackie

I began training Jackie Gubitosi in July of 2010. She was referred to me by a long-term client of mine who is also one of Jackie’s close friends. When Jackie came to me, she was feeling desperate; she was at her heaviest weight yet and beginning to feel like she was on a downward spiral from which she would not recover. Jackie had spent years trying all of the latest diet and exercise fads; she tried the Zone, Atkins, South Beach and Weight Watchers diets and experimented with yoga, Pilates, spin classes and a variety of trainers with little success. After having both her gall bladder and thyroid removed, Jackie’s weight continued to rise, and even adjustments made to her thyroid medication weren’t helping.

When we first spoke, Jackie was skeptical that I could offer her anything different from what she had tried in the past, but she was willing to give my methods a shot. After a 1 ½ hour phone consultation and an initial nutritional counseling session, Jackie and I set some short and long-term goals for her to achieve her ideal body composition by the end of 12 months’ time. So far, Jackie has made incredible progress, and we will continue to track her results here over the course of the next year. Check in with us each month to hear Jackie’s story and to watch her move closer and closer to her goals.

“Mike Lynch is a trainer’s trainer. He is dedicated to fitness and to the fitness business. You can lift with him or have lunch with him and you are bound to learn something. Workouts that are deemed serious don’t have to be ominous, and Mike proves that day in and day out.”

Celebrity Trainer

My family has been working with Mike Lynch for over 5 years now; this includes my teenage daughter and son, my wife, and myself. Mike is outstanding in that he brings a total commitment to all aspects of his clients’ health. Mike is not just a personal trainer. His knowledge of nutrition and exercise physiology is very sophisticated, and he incorporates this with a personalized exercise regimen to build a comprehensive health program tailored to each client. As doctors, my wife and I have tried to instill our children with an understanding of the importance of diet and exercise, but it is Mike who has been most instrumental in getting them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. They will carry this knowledge with them into their adulthood, and they will someday pass this along to their own children. Working with Mike Lynch can and will change your life.

When I started training with Mike five years ago, I was 30 years old and 190 pounds with a 25% body fat ratio. At the time, I considered myself only slightly overweight, but I was happy nonetheless. What I didn’t realize was that I was headed towards obesity, and my health was rapidly declining. I guess you could say my ignorance was my bliss. When Mike first told me the harsh reality of my physical condition, he never once made me feel bad or guilty about the shape I was in. Instead, he empowered me by allowing me to visualize and construct the image of the person I wanted to be. He set a nutritional plan and exercise routine which helped me make my dream a reality. Within the first year of working with Mike, I lost 15 pounds and 7% body fat. After the second year, I achieved my personal goal weight of 156 pounds, and my body fat was in the single digits. I looked and felt incredible! Currently, I am still 156 pounds and 9% body fat. I can now run a 5k in under 24 minutes, and I can compete with guys in their twenties in basketball, racquetball, and flag football. When I started with Mike, I definitely wanted to lose weight and just be more healthy overall, but more importantly, I wanted to be able to maintain and improve my athletic ability so that I could keep up with the sports I loved since I was a kid. The athletic physique I achieved as a result was just an added bonus!

Over the years, Mike has been not only my personal trainer, but also my friend. I have started to call him the Anatomic Architect because he really does encourage his clients to share their hopes, dreams, and goals with him, and then he constructs a plan that will help them achieve those ends. If you think your goals can’t be reached, it’s only because you haven’t worked with Lynch Fitness Systems yet.
