I was always around 130-140 pounds my adult life, until I had my daughter.  She was almost 4 years old, but I still weighed the same weight as when I was 9 months pregnant – 190 pounds.  I thought, well, this is my life now and I was ok with it.  I was also working too many hours and just never seemed to have any time left to take care of myself. Five months ago, I was actually trying to talk someone else into hiring a personal trainer because they were very unhappy with their weight. This got me thinking and I realized my daughter will have no pictures of me, because I refused to take any pictures due to not liking how I looked.  That made me very sad and I thought why am I not listening to my own advice.  I googled Long Island’s #1 trainer and Mike’s website came up.  As soon as I met him, I knew I could trust him 100% and that he wanted me to succeed.  I listened to everything he told me to do, how to workout and what to eat and this resulted in me losing 60 pounds in 5 months.  I was really surprised that I didn’t have to wait longer to feel better.  Every single day, from day one, I felt the difference. I have more energy, more ambition, more confidence, but most importantly, my daughter has a happier and healthier mom that is no longer embarrassed to be in a photograph.  Mike’s changed every part of my life for the better and I’ll be forever grateful for that.  One of the things I love most about Mike is his honesty. I thought I was giving him reasons for me being overweight, but he made me see I was giving him excuses.  He told me I sounded like a victim.  He was right and I didn't want to sound like that.  I didn't even realize that I sounded like that.  He told me the truth I needed to hear. I’ve always considered myself a healthy person and I’ve worked out diligently for many years. For several years I have been searching for the “perfect” program or diet. I’ve tried CrossFit, bodybuilding, numerous programs and tons of money wasted. Sports & exercise were always a part of my life & being fit has always been important to me. But in my forties I began to notice that the same old workout routine just wasn’t cutting it anymore, I wasn’t getting the results I once had. Mike has been my Dad and Sister’s trainer for years. After watching their transformation I knew I had to get in on the action. I had never met Mike before so I didn’t know what to expect. I will admit that I was a little intimidated by Mike’s sleeve tattoos at first but that quickly faded. Mike took me under his wing and taught me how to be a true eagle. It started as a Christmas gift for my husband. He was complaining about his workout routine; he felt he was in a rut and not making any progress. I was lucky enough to find Mike Lynch when searching for (no joke) ‘best trainer on long island’. Well, that is exactly what I got. I was looking to get in shape for my destination wedding – but I knew I also wanted the results to last, not just be temporary. I started working out with Mike in August of 2012 with my weight at 193 lbs, my waist a size 36 and trending up, and triglycerides at over 100. I had been working out with various personal trainers for 30 years prior to meeting Mike with nothing but weight gains and muscle pains, thinking that I was in good shape because, well, I was working out so this must be normal! My dad and I started working with Mike in September 2012. In that time, he has turned healthy eating and exercise into a way of life not just for us two, but our entire family. I felt like my life was a roller coaster that wouldn’t end. I would eat, diet, eat, diet; never exercise. I was constantly going up and up. As my weight grew, so did my frustrations and lack of self. I knew there had to be a better way.
